Beverly, Ma

It can also lead to many oral health consequences. If you are missing multiple teeth, you may not be able to enjoy the foods you love. Our team at Thomas P. Rafferty, DDS can replace your teeth with a multiple tooth implant procedure in order to boost your confidence and improve your quality of life.

How Are Multiple Tooth Implants Installed?

The multiple tooth implant procedure is completed in several stages. During your first visit, our team will complete a thorough exam and obtain digital x-rays. The information gathered during this visit is used to make your implants and also allow our team to determine if you need a bone graft.

If you need a graft, this must be completed before the implants are installed. Our professional will graft bone fragments to your existing jawbone in order to strengthen it. After the healing process is complete and the fragments have fused with your jawbone, the implants can be installed.

When you return to have your implants installed, our team will first administer an anesthetic. After it has taken effect, our professional will attach the titanium posts directly to your jawbone. In some cases, the crowns can be attached to these posts on the same visit. If this is not true for your case, then you will be provided temporary teeth and given several months to heal.

When you return, our team will remove the temporary teeth from the implants. They will then attach the final crowns to the posts and ensure that they fit properly. These crowns look and function like your natural teeth. They are color-matched to the adjacent teeth so that they are indistinguishable and provide you with a complete smile.

What Are the Benefits?

Dental implants provide many health and quality of life benefits. One of the reasons that they are popular with patients is that they are durable and long-lasting. The implant posts will never need to be replaced. According to Healthline, the crowns will last approximately ten years as long as they are properly cared for.

Dental implants also function better than other restorations like dental bridges or dentures. Because implants are attached directly to your jawbone, you are able to bite down with more force, which makes chewing easier. Dental implants protect your gums from bacteria and infection. They also protect you from the bone loss that occurs as a result of missing teeth.

Other restorations, such as dental bridges and dentures, do not protect you from bone loss or receding gums. They also do not look as natural as dental implants and will not allow you to bite down with as much force. These benefits make multiple tooth implants a great choice for improving your smile and protecting your oral health.

Do not sit idly by for another day while missing teeth damage your confidence and hurt your quality of life. Start your journey to a restored, complete smile today.
